Our Founder
Chioma Alade is a qualified safeguarding practitioner and the founder of ByFourteen, a practice dedicated to creating truly inclusive abuse prevention frameworks and sexual predator awareness education.
Since 2021, Chioma has advocated for the recognition and prevention of sexual abuse in faith and cultural spaces where it is too often minimised or silenced. Her expertise spans institutional, religious, ritualistic, and culturally enabled abuse, alongside a specialist focus on the abuse of high masking neurodiverse individuals a specialism she has built through years of frontline advocacy, education, and research.
Chioma is a member of the REACT Network and was selected for specialist training by the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse, funded by the Home Office and hosted at Barnardo’s. This training was commissioned to equip her to extend her work through ByFourteen, translating survivor-centred, evidence-based practice into tangible safeguarding education for the communities she serves.
Through ByFourteen, Chioma delivers workshops, training, and resources that equip schools, churches, and communities to recognise the signs of abuse, respond appropriately, and build cultures where children and vulnerable people are protected rather than silenced. Her work is grounded in statutory safeguarding frameworks and shaped by a deep understanding of the institutional and cultural dynamics that can allow abuse to go unchallenged including the particular vulnerabilities faced by neurodiverse individuals and victims from misunderstood communities, whose experiences of abuse are frequently overlooked or misunderstood.
Chioma speaks, writes, and trains with the conviction that protection is not optional. it is a duty owed to every child and every adult, in every community, without exception.
Her goal is to reach every child in the UK with predator awareness training before the age of Fourteen.
Why By14?
Awareness reaches us too late. Research shows that many experiences of abuse occur before the age of 14, often going unnoticed or unreported. We believe prevention cannot wait. By14 exists to equip children, families, educators, and communities with the knowledge and tools needed to recognise, prevent, and respond to abuse. We aim to arm all children and youth with toolkits and training that enable them to understand body autonomy before the age of fourteen.

What We Do?
Advocacy & Advice
We operate as advocates with expert crisis support for sexual abuse and other categories of harm within institutions, religious organisations, and cultural communities. We are also able to provide multiagency referrals when needed and support victim survivors as they correspond between them.
School, Youth & Community Training
We are trained to deliver age appropriate safe relationship, sexual abuse prevention and awareness talks to schools parents and children and youth groups. Training groups, safeguards the community. ByFourteen are trained to deliver religiously, culturally and neurodiversity inclusive
Religious & Corporate Organisation Training
